Our Services

all of which are designed to enhance and complete your shopping experience. We can test your eyes, advice action, improve your vision, and change your look.

Eye testing

What to expect

Our experienced optometrists will give you thorough attention, and make appropriate recommendations - whether you need a standard vision check-up, or a more intensive eye examination.

During a complete eye examination, we will determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, check for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together, and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.

We have invested in the latest vision technology, and our examinations are usually completed in-store, within 15 to 30 minutes. However, we will recommend you to reputed ophthalmologists or hospitals if additional tests or surgery is required.

When to test your eyes

  • Eye care experts recommend a complete eye examination every 2 years until the age of 40.
  • After the age of 40, it is essential to have an eye examination every year, to check for common age-related eye problems such as presbyopia, cataracts and macular degeneration.
  • Adults who wear eyeglasses or contact lenses must definitely seek annual eye examinations.
  • Frequent examinations are required for adults with diabetes, high blood pressure, or other medical conditions that impact on vision and eye health.
  • For children, eye examinations can play an important role in normal development.

What to carry

If it is your first eye examination, or if your last one was a while ago, please bring the following:

  • Eyeglasses, reading glasses or contact lenses that you use routinely
  • Prescriptions for your last eyewear
  • List and dosage of any medications and nutritional supplements you take
  • Questions you would like to ask us, especially if you are interested in contact lenses or vision correction surgery

Face styling

Buying new eyewear with us is much like a fun shopping experience in the company of a fashion consultant.

We have developed a sixth sense for finding the perfect fit, and will do everything to ensure that your purchases are pleasing, and perfect for you.

We stock an unbelievably large and diverse selection of frames, and in each line, we choose only the most interesting shapes, colours and materials. As a result, your choices can range from dramatic designs guaranteed to encourage second looks, to light-as-air frames that virtually disappear on your face.

Our optometrists are trained to determine which lenses best match your particular needs and to give your completed glasses a comfortable fit and great look. Besides being experienced and knowledgeable, they are creative, and share a great enthusiasm for exciting eyewear.

What to expect

We treat every visit as a personal consultation. We will help you choose a frame that not only works with your prescription, but flatters your face, matches your personality, and suits your overall style.

Image makeover

Your glasses are a focal point of your face. But your hair, makeup, clothes, and accessories also say a lot about the kind of person you are. They offer strangers an insight into your personality, and in a more familiar content, they define your attitude, interests, and general outlook towards life. It is also important to periodically assess your external image, and ensure that it is still in step with your internal values and beliefs.

We have spent years consulting our customers on their appearances, and we have come to thoroughly enjoy the process. In recent times, we have fostered close ties with industry professionals, and it is our pleasure to introduce you to some of the city’s best stylists, hair dressers, makeup artists and personal shoppers.

What to expect

Let us know if you are bored with your appearance, if you would like your ‘real self’ to shine through, or if you wish to adopt a new guise that is appropriate for your lifestyle. Tell us what you wish to portray, and how you want to be seen. We will do our best to help you get a new look for yourself.

Destination Art

We celebrate design in everything we do. Just as we see our frames as works of art with the power to change a personality, we look upon art as something that can make or mar a space.

It is no coincidence that famous Dutch artists Adelheid van Swelm and Huub Kortekaas were part of our official opening. Some of their best-known sculptures, including the 3.33 metre Tulip-Seat, were displayed at our premises, and won rave reviews from customers, and through media coverage.

The talented duo’s portfolio encompasses a wide variety of projects, many featuring the plant as a metaphor for the human being - growing from the dark towards the light. Their work is referred to as quantum art.

We treat every visit as a personal consultation. We will help you choose a frame that not only works with your prescription, but flatters your face, matches your personality, and suits your overall style.

Our Products

We have built solid relationships with international partners in the eyewear industry, and represent their collections in the UAE, often exclusively. Our portfolio includes designer, limited-edition and luxury eye-wear, as well as renowned and reputed brands from around the world.

Prescription glasses

What to expect

Finding eyeglasses with features that are important often depends on choosing the right frame materials, each of which has its own merits. We can help you choose eyewear to suit different occasions, and we recommend owning more than one pair, ideally with different frame materials.

Our licensed opticians will help you choose the right frames to match your prescription, style and budget, and ensure that they look great and fit comfortably.

Understanding frames

  • Titanium is a premium metal that is strong, durable, corrosion-resistant, hypo-allergenic, 40% lighter than other metals, and available in several colours.
  • Beta titanium, an alloy of titanium, aluminium and vanadium makes it more flexible than pure titanium, and is great for adjusting fittings.
  • Memory metal, an alloy of titanium and nickel, is extremely flexible, which means it returns to its original shape after twisting or bending. This feature makes it ideal for young children.
  • Beryllium resists corrosion and tarnish, making it apt for high skin acidity, and swimming. It is lightweight, strong, flexible and available in a wide range of colours.
  • Stainless steel, an alloy of iron-carbon and chromium, is lightweight, strong, durable, flexible and corrosion-resistant, and is available in matte or polished finishes.
  • Zyl (Zylonite, cellulose acetate) is a lightweight plastic available in a variety of colours, including multi-coloured models and gradations of colour.
  • Propionate, the nylon-based plastic is strong, flexible, lightweight and hypoallergenic, and is ideal for sports because of its high durability.
  • Combination frames have both metal and plastic components, and its comeback models are available in a wider variety of colours than the classic models of yore.
  • Safety glasses are usually made of extra tough plastics such as polycarbonate.

Sunglasses

Prescription sunglasses are crucial for everyone who wears eye glasses. They act as a safeguard not just from the sun, but also from dust and debris, and are particularly important after a debilitating eye infection or disease.

Fashion sunglasses with non-prescription lenses are called plano glasses, and need to be worn by everyone who wears contact lenses, for protection from harmful UV rays. Sunglasses also help keep contact lenses from drying out when outdoors, and shield the eyes from windblown debris.

We have a stunning range of prescription and non-prescription sunglasses, with numerous choices in styling, designs, designer brands and frame materials.

Prescription lens

While some people enjoy making a fashion statement with eyeglasses, others prefer their appearance without them. Just like eyeglasses, contact lenses can correct near-sightedness, far-sightedness and astigmatism.

Contact lenses offer the ability to be free of eyeglasses without expensive vision surgery, and they provide a wider field-of-view than eyeglasses, which is great for sports.

Our opticians will also make sure you understand everything about your new contact lenses, and help you learn how to wear them, and take care of them.

What we offer

  • Contact lenses for adults and children
  • Daily disposable contact lenses
  • Custom and bi-focal contact lenses
  • Contact lenses for astigmatism
  • Rigid gas permeable lenses

Understanding lenses

Contact lenses

  • Soft lenses are thin lenses made of gel-like, water containing plastics, and make up more than 90% of all contact lenses worn today. They cover the entire cornea (the clear front surface of your eye).are easy to adapt for first time-users, and
  • Gas permeable lenses (also known as GP, RGP or rigid gas permeable lenses) are smaller lenses made from rigid, waterless plastics. In some cases, GP lenses provide sharper vision than soft lenses.

Lenses in optical frames

  • Aspheric lenses, which have a slimmer, more attractive profile than other lenses eliminate the magnified, ‘bulging eye’ look caused by some prescriptions.
  • High index lenses are made of new materials that enable it to be noticeably thinner and lighter than regular plastic lenses.
  • Polycarbonate lenses are thinner, lighter and up to 10 times more impact-resistant than regular plastic lenses. These lenses are great for safety glasses and children’s eyewear.
  • Photochromic lenses are sun-sensitive, and darken in bright conditions while returning to a clear state in ordinary indoor lighting.
  • Polarised lenses diminish glare from flat, reflective surfaces like water, and also reduce eye fatigue
  • Lens coatings include anti-reflective, scratch-resistant, ultraviolet treatment, and mirror coatings
